Trwają m.in. blokady autostrad i przejść granicznych.

Cytat:

Nagranie przedstawia protestujących atakujących policyjną furgonetkę, rozbijających przednią szybę pojazdu i kopiących lusterka wsteczne.

Holenderski rząd rozgniewał rolników, ogłaszając 10 czerwca plan ograniczenia zrzutów azotu nawet o 70 proc. na 131 kluczowych obszarach kraju - większość z nich w pobliżu rezerwatów przyrody i obszarów chronionych - w celu osiągnięcia celów ochrony środowiska w 2030 r.

Dutch Farmers are the new Truckers

As you might have heard, the Dutch farmers are protesting, and locking down the whole country. This is a very important development we need to fully support.

Several media here in the US are reporting on this, but there are many important details that are getting lost in translation. Drawing on direct reports from and conversation with William Higgins, a good friend who lives in the Netherlands, here is why.

What is going on?

There have been many farmer protests in the Netherlands. That, by itself, is nothing new. Most of that was spurred on by the pressure caused by regulation from The Hague, which, in turn, often was in reply to demands from Brussels by the EU. Most farmers tried to comply with all the little and crazy rules and regulations, each time with enormous investments as a result.

The newest craze is a ‘nitrogen crisis’, and the current Dutch Government is budgeting at least 25 billion Euros in the next 12 years to combat this newest crisis. They even created a whole new government department and top official, a ‘Ministry of Climate and Nitrogen’! This time it isn’t carbon that is the culprit, but nitrogen, in the form of ammonia and other nitrogen compounds.

The problem, the government says through the new Minister of Climate and Nitrogen, Rob Jetten, is that there is a ‘smothering blanket’ of nitrogen over the Netherlands, that is causing nature to ‘slowly die’. Very alarming! There isn’t that much green in the Netherlands, a very tiny but very densely populated country in the heart of Europe, and now even that little green there is, is threatened by a tragic death because the emission of nitrogen in the country is way too high!

So now the government is acting very forcefully, imposing impossible nitrogen limits on farmers, talk about expropriation of farmers (often farms that are centuries old!), calling any protest ‘extreme right wing violence’, and there is even talk to use the army to quell the Farmers Uprising!

Protesty nie ustają. Teraz przyszedł czas na blokadę centrów dystrybucyjnych supermarketów.

Dutch farmers block entrances to supermarket warehouses

Dutch farmers angry at government plans to slash emissions used tractors and trucks Monday to blockade supermarket distribution centers, the latest actions in a summer of discontent in the country's lucrative agricultural sector.

The Netherlands' busiest aviation hub, Schiphol Airport, urged travelers to use public transport to get to its terminals amid fears that the blockades also would target airports. Fishermen acting out of solidarity with farmers also blocked a number of harbors.

The unrest among Dutch farmers was triggered by a government proposal to slash emissions of pollutants like nitrogen oxide and ammonia by 50% by 2030. Provincial governments have been given a year to formulate plans to achieve the goal.

That is expected to lead to reducing livestock and buying up some farms whose livestock produce large amounts of ammonia. Farmers argue they are being unfairly targeted and shown little concern for their futures.

Police looked on but did not immediately take action Monday as some 25 tractors parked outside a distribution center for supermarket chain Albert Heijn in the town of Zaandam, just north of Amsterdam. Placards and banners affixed to the tractors read messages including, “Our farmers, our future.”

The umbrella organization for supermarkets called on police to take action and warned of possible shortages on supermarket shelves.

“Blockades of distribution centers hurt the citizens of the Netherlands. Supermarkets do everything they can to keep the stores stocked, but if blockades continue, it could lead to people not being able to do their daily shopping,” the Central Bureau for Food Trade said in a statement.

Traffic authorities warned motorists to prepare for delays and possible slow-moving tractors on the nation's highways, but said that there were few problems early Monday for commuters, possibly because many people opted to work from home rather than get stuck in traffic.

Over the weekend, the government appointed an intermediary to lead talks between farmers' organizations and officials drawing up pollution reduction measures. However, Prime Minister Mark Rutte has ruled out negotiating with farmers responsible for radical protests.

Mainstream farming lobby group LTO described the mediator, Johan Remkes, as “an administrative heavyweight with deep knowledge” of the issues and said it was open to talks with him.

According to LTO, there are nearly 54,000 agricultural businesses in the Netherlands with exports totaling 94.5 billion euros in 2019.

niech blokują porty lotnicze, jeśli likwidujemy połowę bydła na farmach to niech też połowa samolotów idzie na złom w ramach walki z gazami zmieniającymi klimat
