The Pentagon's enthusiasm for non-lethal crowd-control weapons appears to have stepped up a gear with its decision to develop a microwave pain-infliction system that can be fired from an aircraft.
The device is an extension of its controversial Active Denial System, which uses microwaves to heat the surface of the skin, creating a painful sensation without burning that strongly motivates the target to flee. The ADS was unveiled in 2001, but it has not been deployed owing to legal issues and safety fears.
Nevertheless, the Pentagon's Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate (JNLWD) in Quantico, Virginia, has now called for it to be upgraded. The US air force, whose radar technology the ADS is based on, is increasing its annual funding of the system from $2 million to $10 million.
The transmitting antenna on the current system is 2 metres across, produces a single beam of similar width and is steered mechanically, making it cumbersome. At the heart of the new weapon will be a compact airborne antenna, which will be steered electronically and be capable of generating multiple beams, each of which can be aimed while on the move.
The ADS has been dogged by controversy. Jürgen Altmann, a physicist at Dortmund University in Germany, showed that the microwave beams can cause serious burns at levels not far above those required to repel people. This was verified when a US airman was hospitalised with second-degree burns during testing in April 2007.
The airborne version will not make it any less contentious. "Independent of the mode of production, with this size of antenna the beam will show variations of intensity with distance - not just a simple decrease - up to about 500 metres," says Altmann. Shooting it on the move with any accuracy will be difficult, he adds.
Dave Law, head of the technology division of the JNLWD, says the airborne weapon will operate at the lowest possible effective power level and will have a sophisticated automated target-tracking system.
In a recent cost-benefit analysis, the US Government Accountability Office rated the ADS worst out of eight non-lethal weapons currently in development.

Zobaczcie na klasyczny transport kontenerów, tych

dużo mniej niż towarów. W transporcie masowym
rozchodzi się o prosty i sprawny model
działania, czyli „błyskawiczne”

Przyjrzyjcie się kontenerom w porcie, też mają
pofalowane ścianki, ale nie ma potrzeby wkładać
jeden w drugi, przewozi się je na pusto, tak samo
jak są pełne. Kształt klasycznego kontenera
jest podobny do pudełka zapałek - ściany pod
kontem 90 stopni. Nikomu nie przeszkadza, że nie
można go włożyć jeden w drugi, kiedy nie ma w
nim towaru. W ten sposób spełnia wielozadaniową
rolę, przeciwnie do pojemnika, który ma
profilowany kształt (przekrój trapezu), co
pozwala wnioskować o jego konkretnym
przeznaczeniu.
Pojemniki z filmu są jeden w drugim, co pozwala
zaoszczędzić miejsce na placu, gdzie teraz są
składowane, tak jak by oczekiwały na swój
dzień, a nie na dziś. Natomiast kontenery w
transporcie wykorzystujemy dziś a nie jutro, dla
tego nie musimy ich wkładać jeden w drugi, a i
tak się to opłaca no i podobnie jak DHL, nie
można tego procesu zatrzymać. To duża różnica
w sposobie myślenia. Chcę powiedzieć, że
pojemniki z placu jakby czekały, aby być
wykorzystane do transportu na jakąś akcję. To
jest dla mnie sygnał, że w pierwszym momencie,
trzeba do miejsca „A” przewieść jak
najszybciej i jak największą ilość tych
pojemników z placów gdzie są składowane.
Gdybym zobaczył, że te czarne –jeszcze puste-
skrzynki przywożą setki ciężarówek przez
kilka dni do mojej Warszawy, to bym się nie nawet
nie pakował i wyjechał natychmiast na wieś, a
tak wystarczy pewnie wiele, wiele, wiele mniej
ciężarówek.
W artykule nie wspomina się o miejsc
przeznaczenia już pełnych pojemników, czyli
punkcie B, a to jest w logistyce naprawdę
istotne. Jeśli to są plany NWO, to są już
magazyny, doły, krematoria, co kto chce. Nie da
się wykopać więcej dołów niż pojemników w
krótkim czasie, jeśli te będą używane
wielokrotnie.
Moim zdaniem to są „bardziej” pojemniki do
celów transportowych. Są wytrzymałe,
wystarczająco hermetyczne, łatwe w umyciu i
banalnie proste w transporcie kolejowo –
drogowym. Czyli wszystko cechy do powtórnego
wykorzystania. Jeśli już chcecie to jest to taki
„Body container”, a więc nie potrzeba już
300 milionów pojemników, wystarczy 300
tysięcy.
Na pewno pojemniki z płaskim dnem i płaską
pokrywą nadają się do przewożenia w stanie
załadownym w warstwach po cztery i pięć.
Słusznie zauważona różnica i bardzo istotna w
stosunku do schronów, gdzie pokrywy powinny być
innego kształtu, podobne do łuków, ale to nie
przesądza, że można nie można go zakopać w
ziemi i się zapadnie. Do takiej konstrukcji, nie
potrzeba mocnych zamków, to są zamki
grawitacyjne, które tam widziałem, to znaczy
jeden pojemnik dociska drugi. Mniejsza
powierzchnia u podstawy dociska tą klapę

ciężarówki. Zaskoczyło mnie, że dla dwóch
możliwości zastosowano jedno rozwiązanie –
genialne. Załadunek skrzynek, na co chcecie i
gdzie chcecie, będzie błyskawiczny.
Pod względem logistyki, mniej czasu zajmuje
umieszczenie w pojemniku towaru po trzy (jak
podajecie) niż pakowanie wszystko do osobnych.
1-Ciach, 2-ciach, 3-ciach i zamykamy, a tak cicha
i zamykamy, otwieramy i tak jeszcze dwa razy.
Pozostaje pytanie, dla czego nie pięć, a trzy,
no i czy to nie dziwne, że trumna też się tam
mieści, jakby uszyte na wymiar. W transporcie nie
buduje się większych kontenerów, bo nie ma
większych ciężarówek, tylko większe statki.
Więc jedyną myślą jest, że przy użyciu
odpowiedniego chwytaka, ośmiu mężczyzn (na
dwóch na każdym rogu) podniesie pojemnik z
trzema.
Wniosek jest taki. Te pojemniki nadają się do
masowego i sprawnego składowania dużej ilość
zwłok w jednym miejscu. Dodatkowo, jako „Body
container” perfekcyjnie nadają się do masowego
i sprawnego transportu dużej ilości zwłok w jak
najkrótszym czasie. Można się przestraszyć na
sami ich widok i twierdzić, , że przygotowano ja
na zdarzenie, o którym nie mam wiedzy. Nie
myślę o teorii spiskowej, a raczej o wydarzeniu
losowym, ale czy taka jest ich rola�Ś nie wiem.
Przecież sprawa przeznaczenia tych pudeł już została wyjaśniona. Wystarczy wrzucić 5425163 w google.

Nowy Jork szykuje się na "kasatroficzny" atak
Agencje federalne, stanowe i miejskie przeprowadziły zakrojone na szeroką skalę ćwiczenia na wodach w pobliżu miasta Nowy Jork, przygotowując się w ten sposób na ewentualny atak bombą nuklearną lub tzw. brudną bombą.
- Jesteśmy dużym miastem i mamy tu wiele miejsc, które narażone są na atak – powiedział Ray Kelly, komisarz z Departamentu Policji w Nowym Jorku.
Agencje, które uczestniczyły we wczorajszych testach, podkreślały, że to tylko ewentualne ćwiczenia, a na razie nie istnieje żadne, konkretne zagrożenie dla miasta. Jednak Kelly zauważył, że miasto nie chce ryzykować, zwłaszcza po tym, co w zeszłym roku ogłosił Osama bin Laden. - Wiemy, że Osama bin Laden kilka lat temu wezwał do użycia broni jądrowej, a naszym celem jest niedopuszczenie do tego, by to wezwanie się spełniło – powiedział komisarz.
Poza poprawą gotowości wszystkich możliwych służb na wypadek ataku przeprowadzonego z morza, Kelly powiedział też, że szeroko nagłośnione ćwiczenia mają również odstraszyć tych, którzy chcieliby przeprowadzić tego rodzaju atak.

W ćwiczeniach uczestniczyło aż osiem rządowych agencji, zaczynając od nowojorskiej policji, a kończąc na amerykańskiej Straży Przybrzeżnej. Ćwiczenia odbywały się u wejścia do Zatoki Nowojorskiej, nieco na południe od mostu Verrazzano-Narrows, który łączy Staten Island z Brooklynem.
Zgodnie z planem, osiem łodzi miało przekroczyć punkt kontrolny stworzony przez władze. Służby szukały nieprawidłowo wysokiej radioaktywności – sygnału ostrzegawczego, który może oznaczać, że gdzieś znajduje się urządzenie jądrowe lub tak zwana brudna bomba, której działanie polega na rozrzuceniu materiału radioaktywnego na dużej przestrzeni. Niektóre z łodzi były wabikami, które nie posiadały na pokładzie żadnych substancji radioaktywnych, ale część z nich rzeczywiście posiadała radioaktywne izotopy.
Urządzenia służące do wykrywania promieniowania, znajdujące się na statkach należących do służb, miały rozpoznać, które statki posiadają substancje radioaktywne. Urządzenia te są tak bardzo czułe, że nawet osoby, które niedawno przeszły leczenie związane z naświetlaniem, mogą je już uruchomić.
Zadaniem służb uczestniczących w ćwiczeniach było oddzielenie złych i dobrych łodzi, i oczywiście wykrycie tych, które mogłyby oznaczać zagrożenie.
Już w pierwszych minutach podczas trwających sześć godzin ćwiczeń, sprzęt na łodzi policyjnej wykrył radioaktywność na małej łódce, która przepływała przez punkt kontrolny.
Dwie jednostki patrolowe zbliżyły się do łodzi, podczas gdy funkcjonariusze zaczęli przepytywać osobę prowadzącą podejrzaną łódź oraz dwóch pasażerów. Chwilę później służby weszły na pokład, aby na miejscu przeszukać łódź specjalistycznym urządzeniem do wykrywania promieniowania. Następnie funkcjonariusze przekazali wyniki do Wspólnego Centrum Analizy Departamentu Bezpieczeństwa Narodowego (JAC), które znajduje się w Waszyngtonie, a które może dokładnie ustalić, jaki radiologiczny materiał znajdował się na pokładzie.

Jak później wyjaśnił sierżant nowojorskiej policji, Art Mogil, agencje zdecydowały się wybrać do ćwiczeń także małe jednostki, które często mają prywatnych właścicieli, aby pokazać, że broń radioaktywna może być przewożona nawet przez łodzie, które na pierwszy rzut oka nie budzą podejrzenia. - Urządzenie może ważyć zaledwie kilka kilogramów, a już może stanowić ogromne zagrożenie – powiedział Mogil.
James Waters, szef antyterrorystów z policji w Nowym Jorku, dodał, że ćwiczenia miały ogromne znaczenie, ponieważ stawka w takim przypadku jest również bardzo wysoka. - Skutki przewiezienia urządzenia jądrowego lub radioaktywnego mogą być bardzo poważne, albo wręcz katastroficzne – dodał.
W przeciętny dzień nie wszystkie jednostki, które wpływają do Zatoki Nowojorskiej, poddawane są tego rodzaju testom radioaktywności, które miały miejsce podczas wczorajszych ćwiczeń. Przedstawiciele policji w Nowym Jorku nie chcieli jednak udzielić informacji na temat tego, jaki procent łodzi jest sprawdzanych tego rodzaju specjalistycznym sprzętem.

The military isn’t about to deploy its pain ray to the battlefield. But someone in the commercial sector is about to one. We don’t know who. The sale is mentioned in a presentation by Raytheon, who built the microwave weapon for the Defense Department.
The so-called “Active Denial System” works by heating the outer surface of the target’s skin using millimeter waves — short wavelength microwaves. The effect is painful, but generally harmless, and forces the target to get out of the beam. Recently, it’s been proposed as a possible defense against pirates; last month, Raytheon gave a presentation on Active Denial at a NATO workshop on anti-pirate equipment and technologies.
This presentation mentions an “Impending Direct Commercial Sale” of a commercial version of the Active Denial system known as Silent Guardian (pictured). This is Active Denial in a box, a 10,000-pound containerized system that can be mounted on a ship, a truck, or a fixed installation. It’s got an effective range of about 250 meters. The beam has a power of around 30 kilowatts.
The anti-pirate presentation shows how a set-up with two antennas could achieve almost 360-degree coverage for a small container ship.
The Active Denial System was first unveiled in 2001, but a series of delays have prevented it from being fielded in spite of requests for it in Iraq. Danger Room reported the wrangling in 2006 and in 2008, with the Defense Science Board conclusion that deployment was “not politically tenable” because of a possible association with torture. This would be particularly true if the weapon was used at detention centers, and a recent Government Accountability Office report indicated that the attempts to get the ADS to Iraq have now been discontinued.
Paradoxically, it seems that the controversial “pain beam” may be more acceptable in the civilian market than in the military — depending on how the weapon is used.
Certainly, few people would object to the Active Denial System being used for zapping off pirates. The Long Range Acoustic Device, which produces an intense beam of sound, was used to fend off pirates attacking the cruise ship Seabourn Spirit in 2005. But it might be received differently if it was used in a prison or to repel intruders (or protesters) from company property.
But we don’t know who it’s being sold to.
“Raytheon’s non-lethal Silent Guardian system has attracted widespread interest, but it would be premature for us to discuss any sales until contracts are signed.” a Raytheon spokesperson told Danger Room.
In the longer run, Raytheon believe that Active Denial might have all sorts of applications in law enforcement, prisons and protecting installations – not to mention chasing geese away from airports. One day a domestic version might even repel burglars.
Of course, not everyone is enthusiastic about the prospects.
“For now the high price tag should restrict potential customers,” says Neil Davison, author of the book ‘Non-lethal’ Weapons. Raytheon won’t quote a price, but Silent Guardian is likely to set you back several million. “However, as the costs and size drop, expect police forces to become more and more interested. This is where function creep will become a problem. With current controversies over the misuse of the Taser, the spread of new military weapons technologies to the civilian realm does not seem like a very sensible way to go.”

Aresztowana za kradzież w sklepie 13-latka spędziła w więzieniu w hrabstwie Dallas, w Teksasie, prawie dwa tygodnie, zanim policjanci zdołali ustalić, że była nieletnia.
W sprawie wszczęto wewnętrzne śledztwo - poinformował w czwartek wieczorem (czasu lokalnego) sierżant Warren Mitchell.
Dziewczyna, która uciekła z domu, została aresztowana za kradzież 10 lipca w jednym z domów towarowych. Nie miała przy sobie żadnego dokumentu tożsamości i podała fałszywe imię i nazwisko oraz wiek. Dziewczyna mówiła początkowo, że ma 14 lat, co powinno zaostrzyć czujność policjantów - powiedział jednej z lokalnych gazet wiceszef departamentu śledczego Ron Waldrop.
Policjant, który zatrzymał nastolatkę, kontaktował się z policyjnym wydziałem do spraw nieletnich, ale dziewczyna nie była tam notowana. Wtedy policjant uznał, że dziewczyna ma 17 lat i zamknął ją w areszcie.
Tam została rozpoznana przez jednego z więźniów, znajomego rodziny. Dzięki temu zawiadomiony został ojciec nastoletniej uciekinierki, który dostarczył policji akt urodzenia córki i inne dokumenty.

Cops Taser Old Man For Sitting In Wrong Seat At Baseball Game

Yet another video has emerged of cops tasering someone for sitting in the wrong seat at a sports event. The victim this time was an old man attending an Oakland Athletics baseball game in Oakland California.
The man tased by cops was 62-year-old Thomas Bruso, who apparently was sitting in the wrong seat and was drinking alcohol. Police claimed that the man was not “complying” with attempts to arrest him so the crowd was cleared and he was tasered from behind.
Another man is seen being pushed down the stairs as the situation escalates.
“While the man is clearly uncooperative and perhaps belligerent, it is unclear why a shot of 50,000 volts was needed,” comments Constitutional lawyer Jonathan Turley.
As the incident unfolded an observer in the crowd commented, “C’mon, take it easy on him….I can’t believe you guys tased him.”
“This individual is not a small person,” said Ofc. Jeff Thomason. “He is 6-foot-1, 280 pounds, so getting in a fight with an individual like this is not in the officer’s best interest.”
However, as the video shows, the cops attempted to arrest the man for barely a minute before resorting to using the taser. The man was resisting arrest but he was not in a “fight” with the cops as Thomason implies.
This is not the first time that police have deployed a taser on someone for sitting in the wrong seat at a sports event.
In a far more disturbing case last year, Wisconsin police were caught on camera tasering a 54-year-old woman at a football game in Madison.
Margaret Hiebing, a veteran Badger season ticket holder, was ejected from the Camp Randall stadium during the Oct. 11 game against Penn State after she was found sitting in the wrong seat, reported WKOW 27 News.
Hiebing had taken a different seat because someone else had occupied her usual place at the packed game.
When police approached Mrs Hiebing she explained the situation and refused to leave. Onlookers began to berate the cops after one of them reportedly threatened Hiebing with pepper spray.
One witness filmed the altercation on a cell phone, evidence which would later dispel initial police claims that Hiebing was causing an obstruction by sitting in the aisle. Police then forced Hiebing face down on the ground and tased her on the back of the leg, confining her to a wheelchair because she was unable to walk out of the stadium.
Both these cases, and hundreds more that have occurred down the years, illustrate that the taser, far from being a cop’s last line of defense against a dangerous individual, is being used as a torture device for the purposes of pain compliance – merely forcing the victim to submit to the officer’s demands whether they pose a physical threat to the cop or not.

The International Swine Flu Conference is being held in Washington D.C. next week, just two weeks after the conference on weight control that I wrote about last week. Here’s a summary of it:

Officials see rise in militia groups across US

WASHINGTON (AP) - Militia groups with gripes against the government are regrouping across the country and could grow rapidly, according to an organization that tracks such trends.
The stress of a poor economy and a liberal administration led by a black president are among the causes for the recent rise, the report from the Southern Poverty Law Center says. Conspiracy theories about a secret Mexican plan to reclaim the Southwest are also growing amid the public debate about illegal immigration.
Bart McEntire, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, told SPLC researchers that this is the most growth he's seen in more than a decade.
"All it's lacking is a spark," McEntire said in the report.
It's reminiscent of what was seen in the 1990s—right-wing militias, people ideologically against paying taxes and so-called "sovereign citizens" are popping up in large numbers, according to the report to be released Wednesday. The SPLC is a nonprofit civil rights group that, among other activities, investigates hate groups.
Last October, someone from the Ohio Militia posted a recruiting video on YouTube, billed as a "wake-up call" for America. It's been viewed more than 60,000 times.
"Things are bad, things are real bad, and it's going to be a lot worse," said the man on the video, who did not give his name. "Our country is in peril."
The man is holding an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, and he encourages viewers to buy one.
While anti-government sentiment has been on the rise over the last two years, there aren't as many threats and violent acts at this point as there were in the 1990s, according to the report. That movement bore the likes of Timothy McVeigh, who in 1995 blew up a federal building in Oklahoma City and killed 168 people.
But McEntire fears it's only a matter of time.
These militias are concentrated in the Midwest, Pacific Northwest and the Deep South, according to Mark Potok, an SPLC staff director who co-wrote the report. Recruiting videos and other outreach on the Internet are on the rise, he said, and researchers from his center found at least 50 new groups in the last few months.
The militia movement of the 1990s gained traction with growing concerns about gun control, environmental laws and anything perceived as liberal government meddling.
The spark for that movement came in 1992 with an FBI standoff with white separatist Randall Weaver at Ruby Ridge, Idaho. Weaver's wife and son were killed by an FBI sniper. And in 1993, a 52-day standoff between federal agents and the Branch Davidian cult in Waco, Texas, resulted in nearly 80 deaths. These events rallied more people who became convinced that the government would murder its own citizens to promote its liberal agenda.
Now officials are seeing a new generation of activists, according to the report. The law center spotlights Edward Koernke, a Michigan man who hosts an Internet radio show about militias. His father, Mark, was a major figure in the 1990s militia movement and served six years in prison for charges including assaulting police.
Last year, officials warned about an increase in activity from militias in a five-year threat projection by the Homeland Security Department.
"White supremacists and militias are more violent and thus more likely to conduct mass-casualty attacks on the scale of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing," the threat projection said.
A series of domestic terrorism incidents over the past year have not been directly tied to organized militias, but the rhetoric behind some of the crimes are similar with that of the militia movement. For instance, the man charged with the April killings of three Pittsburgh police officers posted some of his views online. Richard Andrew Poplawski wrote that U.S. troops could be used against American citizens, and he thinks a gun ban could be coming.
The FBI's assistant director for counterterrorism, Michael Heimbach, said that law enforcement officials need to identify people who go beyond hateful rhetoric and decide to commit violent acts and crimes. Heimbach said one of the bigger challenges is identifying the lone-wolf offenders.
One alleged example of a lone-wolf offender is the 88-year-old man charged in the June shooting death of a guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington.

SEAN HANNITY, HOST: Now tonight, we bring you an update on a story we covered back in May.
The Central Valley of California was once considered the bread basket of America. But now farms all over that region have been allowed to dry up. Now why? Because of a 2-inch minnow on the endangered species list.
Now, environmentalists claim that the fish was getting caught in the water pumps that provided the farms with water, so to protect the tiny fish, the pumps were turned off. And farmers, well, they were left high and dry, and entire communities are now feeling the impact.
Some towns in the area are now facing unemployment rates of up to 40 percent. And many residents are now forced to visit food banks. But the people of that great area, they've had enough, and they're speaking out tonight.
And joining me live from California is Congressman Devin Munes and comedian and activist Paul Rodriguez.
Guys, I don't know if we can get a shot. It looks like you have over a thousand people there. Is that right?
PAUL RODRIGUEZ, COMEDIAN/ACTIVIST: Well over a thousand, Sean. This is a testament of your message is getting to these people. They've been out here for hours. The only water this field has seen is our sweat. But it's more than we've gotten from the government.
HANNITY: Well, Paul, we have had you on about this before. I want you to tell the entire story, because it's almost unfathomable. Literally, farms are drying up.
RODRIGUEZ: People don't believe it.
HANNITY: Go ahead, tell them. Tell everybody.
RODRIGUEZ: Well, the problem is the environmental laws, they're not flexible at all. The very judge that pushed this order to cut off the water said that there was no swivel room to make accommodations for human beings. You know, this fish apparently takes high priority. All the water has been held back.
And we're left with nothing but — right where we're at, this used to be an almond orchard. We grew some of the sweetest almonds ever. Now it's firewood. Do you want some? Nobody believes that how I got involved my mother is from here.
HANNITY: These farmers, their farms are now dried up. There's no water; there's no production. People are losing their jobs. How many people are out of work there?
RODRIGUEZ: Well, you know, the system varies but a lot of people here aren't working. That's why we're here. We're here to show America this is our own town hall meeting here, Sean.
This is — you know, we're so wrapped up in this issue we don't have time to worry about health care, because everything around us is dead. Our way of life is dying here.
We really — we tried to have the administration come to see about us. We haven't heard. They sent the secretary of the interior here. He gave us some nice lip service and said, "Oh, we're going to do this and do that." But at the end of the thing, we didn't get no water. Our fields are drying out. Something has to be done.
HANNITY: Now Congressman, first, Paul, you were an Obama supporter. You...
RODRIGUEZ: Yes, absolutely. Like everybody else, we wanted change. We didn't think it would be this kind of change. But you know, he kept his promise, we got change.
HANNITY: All right. But where are you now? I heard you want to call Fresno County an Obama country? Or...
RODRIGUEZ: We want to name — we would like to name it after someone who is responsible for this.
Look, we have signed a letter signed by every mayor in this whole area to President Obama, telling him that we tried to go through the chain of command. We saw the secretary of interior. We saw his assistant. We went to Sacramento. We went over there to Washington, D.C.
We've gone everywhere. Everybody is paying lip service. At the end of the day our trees can't wait. Our trees are going to wait for a law — maybe passing might open. Two gates, one gate, no gates, at the end of the day, nobody is bringing us water.
HANNITY: Congressman, I mean, how is this possible? I mean, this isn't an endangered — this is — go ahead.
REP. DEVIN MUNES, R-CALIF.: It's unbelievable, Sean. This is — we tried on the House floor this summer about five or six different times, and we only got a handful of Democrat votes every time. Weave tried to pass something.
And look, Nancy Pelosi is the speaker of the House. She's from California. We have over 10 percent unemployment in California. We're sitting in trees with trees that are only 8 years old right now that are now sitting here dead, dried out.
There's a half a million acres of farmland — it's bigger than the size of Rhode Island — that's now dry because of these fools.
HANNITY: I've got to — go ahead, Paul. Go ahead.
RODRIGUEZ: You know — you know, the loser here is the American people. Because when we live in the most fertile valley on this planet. Everything you put on the ground here grows. Yet, you're going to eventually — by next spring, you're going to get your vegetables from China. And I understand they make great baby milk formula.
MUNES: And Sean, let me add something on this. This is, you know, in China and India, and Brazil, they're building water infrastructure projects. In California, not only are we not building projects here, we're taking the projects we have, and they're shut off. They're shut off, and they're starving this valley of water.
RODRIGUEZ: We'd like to have the same consideration that they have for the plants that they're building in Iraq. For crying out loud, they are getting — they're getting the water projects.
Here in this valley, look we have no other recourse, but we want to thank you a lot, Sean. Because nobody else has pointed their eye on this problem. To us there's a lot of — we understand that the president has serious problems, you know, with health care and all these other things. But to us this is our livelihood.
MUNES: All you got to do is turn the pumps on.
(CHEERS)
HANNITY: Listen, I want everybody — I don't know if anybody is going to hear me out there, guys. But I want to say this to the crowd. You know what? The people in this area need jobs. They need their farms. They need the water for their farms. And the federal government, where is Barack Obama, where is Nancy Pelosi, where is Harry Reid?
Turn the water on and let the people in central California eat. I can't believe I'm even debating, to be honest, Paul.
RODRIGUEZ: It's ridiculous. You know, we — I have not lost faith yet. Maybe I'm a knucklehead. We have sent the letter. We're still hoping that Mr. Obama will see it in his busy schedule to come down here and visit us.
We believe that — seeing is believing. If he sees the faces on these people. Look, we're not just white or brown. We're everybody here. This is a microcosm of America here. We're farmers. We bring food to your table.
HANNITY: Let me ask you the last question. Are you going to run for office?
RODRIGUEZ: Who, me? The only thing I'm going to run is from the cops.
No, this — this area needs someone with an education. I'm not smart enough to be that. I just want water to my mom's farm, and I'm back to telling jokes.
MUNES: I'm working on him. I'm trying to get him to run, Sean. We'll keep — we're going to work on it.
RODRIGUEZ: You should run, Sean. You're the man.
HANNITY: No, no, no. Listen, I mean this sincerely. I think this is really important. And I hope the president is watching or somebody will bring this to his attention, and somebody has got to turn the water back on. We've got to save these farmers. We've got to save these farms. We've got to do it for the people out there.
RODRIGUEZ: Either that or put us on the endangered species list.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's push to revamp health care got a boost Thursday as a new coalition of drug makers, unions, hospitals and others launched a $12 million pro-overhaul ad campaign. Meanwhile, the administration sought to regain control of the health care debate by asking supporters to forward a chain e-mail to counter criticism that's circulating on the Internet.
The e-mail by White House senior adviser David Axelrod offers reasons to support Obama's agenda — and myths to debunk.
Axelrod wrote that opponents are relying on tactics including "viral e-mails that fly unchecked and under the radar, spreading all sorts of lies."
"So let's start a chain e-mail of our own," he said, inviting supporters to forward a message countering claims that Obama's plans would lead to rationing, encourage euthanasia or deplete veterans' health care.
The new ad airing in a dozen states is being paid for by a new coalition called Americans for Stable Quality Care. Members of the group are Families USA, the Service Employees International Union, the drug lobby Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the American Medical Association and the Federation of American Hospitals.
The ad shows a series of photos of doctors and nurses interacting with patients as the narrator asks: "What does health insurance reform mean for you? It means you can't be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition, or dropped if you get sick." The ad also cites lowered costs and a focus on prevention, among other things.
Even as public skepticism over Democrats' health overhaul plans boils over at town hall meetings nationwide, the ad is the latest example of the odd-bedfellows help that Obama is getting in his plea to Congress to enact comprehensive legislation to lower costs and extend coverage to the nearly 50 million uninsured.
"This is really focused on what has been an increasing emphasis for almost all supporters of health care reform, namely trying to make sure families around the country understand the benefits of health reform for them — especially middle-class families that already do have health insurance," said Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA, a liberal advocacy group
Pollack said that supporters who've been focused on the legislative process in Congress need to turn their attention to public opinion, which has been slipping as conservative activists fuel fears of rationing and government control.
"We have a job now to do to have facts catch up with the myths," Pollack said.
Families USA, the drug makers, the 2-million-member union and the AMA also were involved in an earlier effort called Health Economy Now that ran ads supporting a health overhaul as a way to improve the economy.
For PhRMA, the ads are a piece of a larger effort that could reach $150 million or above through the fall. Drug makers and other groups stand to gain if millions more people gain access to insurance.
The new ads are running for two weeks in Arkansas, Alaska, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, South Dakota, Montana, North Dakota, Maine and Virginia, home to moderate Democrats who would be crucial to passage of any health care legislation.
Separately, the pro-overhaul group Health Care for America Now announced a $200,000 expansion of an ad campaign targeting specific lawmakers and asking them to support health legislation.
Health Care for America Now is targeting several moderate Democratic House members who have voted against health legislation or expressed skepticism about it — Reps. Jason Altmire of Pennsylvania, Stephanie Herseth Sandlin of South Dakota and Rick Boucher of Virginia. Also targeted by the ads are Sens. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., and Thomas Carper, D-Del.
On the other side, the group Conservatives for Patients' Rights announced it will run TV and print ads in Bozeman, Mont., and Grand Junction, Colo., to coincide with Obama town halls in those cities on Friday and Saturday. The ads urge opposition to a new public insurance plan supported by Obama that would compete with private insurers.

Po otrzymaniu komorniczego wezwania do opuszczenia mieszkania na 8 piętrze budynku, za które zalegał z czynszem, 78-latek zabarykadował się w środku. W dniu eksmisji w pobliżu budynku zgromadziły się liczne oddziały policji, w tym jednostka specjalna SWAT wyposażona w wóz pancerny. Akcję nadzorował z powietrza policyjny helikopter. PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — A Hampton, N.H., man was charged with trespassing after he allegedly tried to get into Portsmouth High School before President Barack Obama spoke at a health care town hall meeting Tuesday, police said.
Richard Young, 62, was detained by Secret Service personnel after he attempted to get into the high school, police said. The high school had been secured at the time in advance of the president’s visit.
Police said he was also in possession of a folding pocketknife, and officers found a loaded handgun in his car, which was parked on school property. Young was then charged with misdemeanor carrying a loaded pistol without a license.Police said he could face more serious federal charges.
