Nie wierzę, że Putin i spółka mogą być tak krótkowzroczni. Będący w mniejszości alawici (skrajny odłam szyitów) tak długo rządzili stanowiącymi większość sunnitami, że oddolny bunt był - prędzej, czy później - więcej niż pewny. Arabska wiosna w sąsiednich krajach stała się katalizatorem niezadowolenia, które gotowało się i wciąż wrze w syryjskim społeczeństwie. System, który został wybudowany przez ponad 40 lat rządów klanu al-Assada nie może trwać w nieskończoność.

Co ciekawe, w Bahrainie też się zrobiła napięta sytuacja. Jak słusznie zauważa "Russia Today" - w Bahrainie rządzi dynastia wspierana przez USA, co oznacza, że to "demokracja" a nie "dyktatura" Wink
